Here is the October update from Kenya!
Soap making begins in Kenya
Jane Yoder traveled to Kenya this fall to teach soap making. Her first sessions turned out handmade soap and skin care products, and the lessons grew from there.
The children at Hope Children’s Home learned to make natural, plant-based soap from scratch (bathing soap and laundry soap). They also made their own lip balms. The kids loved seeing each step of the process up close.
Time with the kids
Much of the trip was spent with the children in Gilgil, worshipping together on the Sabbath and sharing meals. Later on, everyone headed outdoors for a nature walk (with plenty of exploring and tree climbing).
Out in the community
Our team visited Mahindu Primary School in Nyandarua to encourage students before their exams. On another Sabbath, Jane spoke at the Messianic Assembly of Yahweh in Zimmerman and met with the young people there about the future of their youth ministry.
Ready for February
The house is set up and moved into. It will be ready for our US group when they visit in February. Please keep Jane in your prayers as she wraps up her time in Kenya and travels home.
